I wrote this the morning after the election, but feel it is an appropriate reminder of how I choose to move forward into the next few days and the next four years. Remember, this is a channeled message from the Divine and something that I choose to work towards and aspire to. Blessings to each of us!
To the American People:
As I fell asleep last night, before the president-elect was called, I wondered what kind of world I would wake up to or if I would wake up at all. I thought the earth might just spin off its axis and go whirling out into the universe. I got up this morning, the earth still intact, taught yoga and have consciously refrained from any media. I want to know what I think and believe with as little outside influence as possible. I want my thoughts and words to come through clear as a bell and sharp as a knife from the purest of places.
As I sit in quiet and solitude, I am finding myself turning to the Tantric yoga teaching that says that the ability to merge with the Divine resides in the space between the breath, in the pause, between the inhale and the exhale. This is where I am choosing to rest, in the pause, where it is spacious and expansive and I can see clearly, without judgement, anger, fear, or resentment. In this space, I can speak my truth, my prayer, for our country, its people and the world:
May we SEE each other and may we truly HEAR each other without having to wait four years to anonymously speak our truth. May we learn how to speak our truth when we get choked up. That the contraction is a call to action and may the words we choose to use bring light and healing into the world, even if the subject matter is dark.
May we see and hear our own individual selves. We all have an innate need to be seen and heard and want validation. May we learn to look inward when we find ourselves looking outward. Most people spend their whole lives trying not to see, not to hear and are fearful of the power of their own voice and the consequences of using that voice. May we honor one another and our experiences. May we see ourselves in each other and find the compassion in our hearts to move towards tolerance.
May we know that we do not have to understand one another to have and experience love for one another. This is the act of Unconditional Love and Love is a verb.
May our Mothers, Sisters, Daughters and Nieces know that they have full dominion over their bodies and their beings. That NO ONE outside of themselves knows what is best for them. May they know that they are DIVINE and should be treated as such. They are the Queens of their domain.
May our Fathers, Brothers, Sons and Nephews know their Divinity as well. That we are here to walk side by side, arm in arm with one another in a loving and supportive embrace. That when the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine meet, we are Complete.
May we use our Darkness as a contrast to show the Light that wants to be called forth. May we use the Light to show us where there is Shadow so we know where there is work to be done.
May we recognize that our deep and intense emotions are calling us into action. May our actions be productive, enlightened and inspired, healing and helping, lifting us up rather than keeping us knocked down. “We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For.”-Alice Walker
I love this country. I love its people. We are clearly divided, but a conversation has been started. Rather than contracting, let’s stay in the “pause” and keep the conversation going. I’m listening.
